Corporate Hive

Summer’s here.

Trees are branching out, flowers are in bloom, and the bees are back.

We’ve said before that you must cultivate your workplace culture – your work environment – as you would a garden.

Talent is a big part of your culture and a significant predictor of future performance.

The importance of “A” players in your organization is undisputed. These employees are your stars who regularly meet and often exceed your expectations.

“C” players are those employees who display a pattern of under-performance. They miss deadlines, perform shoddy work and deliver more excuses than completed tasks. These players poison your culture. What’s causing you to hold onto these under-performers?

And then there are the “B” players.

“B” players comprise the majority of your workforce. They get things done, thereby providing organizational stability to your corporate beehive.

Gardens cannot flourish without bees. Organizations cannot sustain high performance without “B” players.

Don’t take your “B” players for granted.

Make sure your corporate beehive provides the environment your “B” players need to pollinate your plans.
