Today is my 30th wedding anniversary.
I’m sharing an otherwise private celebration with you because I’ve found in my work with leaders that people can weather the turbulent seas of an unpredictable economy, mutinous customers and other difficulties associated with leading an organization if they have a port in the storm.
My port in the storm is my wife, Janet.
Twelve years ago my firm and my business career were at a difficult crossroads. Janet was hugely supportive as I worked toward a new way of helping leaders become more successful. Today, I’m passionate about my work and more successful than ever.
But I couldn’t have reached this place if I’d not had a port in the storm.
Happy anniversary, JR. I wouldn’t be where I am today with you.
