Is This Your Newest Competitor? – Amazon Turns 20

Amazon turns 20 tomorrow.

This anniversary means Amazon is one step closer to being your newest competitor.

Leaders of business-to-business companies: Pay attention.

Fortune magazine calls Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos “the ultimate disrupter” because he is constantly looking for new ways to make money by shaking up old industries and creating better experiences for customers.

Their revolutionary services have sent the company into interstellar space, financially speaking, and people want to go along for the ride and will often invest in stock so that they can make a profit from this success. It’s very common to find large, successful companies such as Amazon making an appearance in investment strategies across the world. In Germany, investors there can find trading platforms to help them put their money into the company – in amazon investieren. When selecting such a platform, it would be wise to look at reviews online so that your decisions are informed.

Last Thursday I received an email, saying “Dallas, we’ve arrived. Introducing Amazon Home Services. Hire…a plumber…a handyman…a painter…an electrician…a landscaper…a general contractor. Handpicked Pros. Upfront Prices. Happiness Guarantee.”

Amazon could be your newest competitor.

“We innovate by starting with the customer and working backwards,” Bezos told Fortune. “That becomes the touchstone for how we invent.”

“When [the competition is] in the shower in the morning, they’re thinking about how they’re going to get ahead of one of their top competitors,” Bezos says. “Here in the shower, we’re thinking about how we are going to invent something on behalf of a customer.”

Maybe your competition isn’t who you thought it was.

What are you doing to create better experiences for your customers?
